we are committed to maintaining an environment that is safe and supportive for all of our scholarsโ learning. Therefore, we will continue to have two teachers in each classroom in grades PreK-8, and we will keep our current cap of thirty scholars per classroom, with fewer students in a class wherever possible. We are confident that we can maintain those standards, and also continue to serve all current scholars who choose to return next school year.
While much of our attention has been on long-term plans to continue strengthening our schools, we must also stay focused on what lies immediately ahead: ensuring our scholars master grade-level skills in this final stretch of the school year. State assessments, Regents exams, and final report cards will be here before we know it, and our teachers are committed to maximizing instructional time by targeting the content where our scholars need the most support. Please support this effort by making sure your scholars attend school every day and by checking to make sure all homework is complete every night. For families of elementary and middle school scholars, please also make plans to attend family conferences this month to discuss your childrenโs progress and plan for success. If we work together, Iโm confident that all of our scholars will make tremendous academic progress this year. Thank you as always for your engagement and support.
With appreciation,

100 Days of Learning, Laughing, and Loving Math!
What a milestone! Our kindergarten classrooms were buzzing with extra energy in early February as we celebrated the 100th Day of school. Our young scholars did more than just count to 100; they explored the world through the lens of geometry.
Under the guidance of our wonderful teachers, students went on a mission to identify circles, squares, triangles, and hexagons in the world around them. Whether they were building โ100-shape monstersโ or hunting for polygons in the hallways, the hands-on energy was truly next-level. We are so proud of how far our students have come in just 100 days! |

Celebrating Excellence: February Honors Ceremony |
In February, the halls of East Harlem Scholars Academy High School were filled with pride as we gathered to honor the scholars who went above and beyond in the first semester. While the certificates recognize academic achievement, they represent so much more: late-night study sessions, personal resilience, and a deep-rooted commitment to excellence.
We were especially moved by the turnout of parents and guardians. Your partnership is the foundation of these achievements. These awards belong to you just as much as they do to the students!

Checkout Our Annual Report for 2025
This report is more than just a summary of the 2024-2025 school year; it is a celebration of the incredible progress our scholars, educators, and community have made together.
Whatโs new this year?
The Stories Behind the Success: Weโve infused the report with personal stories from the individuals who make EHTP tickโfrom our dedicated educators and volunteers to the scholars and teaching residents whose lives are transformed by our programs.
Measurable Impact: We are proud to showcase remarkable academic gains. Last year, our scholars made significant strides in both reading and math, and we are thrilled to share these data-driven wins with our community.
While in many ways we are just getting started on our journey to build a world-class educational experience in East Harlem, this step is worth celebrating. We are deeply grateful for your partnership, advocacy, and care for our scholars. We simply could not do this work without you.

OUT OF SCHOOL TIME |

Hair Braiding, Self Defense Classes &
a 3D Printed Child Mobility Chair
Our high school OST program has been firing on all cylinders this trimester! From high-tech engineering to essential life skills, our students are proving that education is about more than just textbooksโitโs about community and confidence.
Engineering for Good: Our STEM students are nearing the finish line on an incredible project: a fully 3-D printed toddler mobility trainer. By creating this affordable alternative, our students are providing a life-changing resource for families who have children with disabilities. This project perfectly blends technical CAD skills with deep empathy for our local community.
Weโve also successfully launched two new student-led spaces:
-
Self-Defense Club: Students are building physical strength and situational awareness, gaining the confidence to navigate the world safely.
-
Hair Braiding Club: This creative hub is where students master intricate techniques and artistry, fostering community through every braid.
We are so proud of the hard work and heart our students have shown this term! |

From our state-of-the-art campus to our robust tutoring and academic support systems, the day provided clarity on why continuing their journey with us is the right move. We can't wait to see these scholars bring their energy and talent to our high school halls this fall!
